Criminal... under ppc section 499 to 502 A.

No FIR,,,,,, but DIRECT COMPLAINT to magistrate or session court,,, as pprovided under secton 198 cr.p.c.

 magistrate will only take cognizance, while sessions court has exclusive power to try under section 502A ppc.

accused may get plea under 10 exceptions provided under secton 499 ppc.

punishment... 2 to 5 years imprisonment, plus minimum fine of 1lac.

offense is bailable, non cognizable,  and compoundable.

Civil Defamation.... under the defamation ordinance 2002.

suit only  to district court.. not civil court..
but before suit,, the plaintiff must give 14 days written notice to the defendant.

defendant May take defence under section 5, 6,7.

if proved.... plaintiff will get damages from 50000 to 300000 or more.

limitation .... 6 months under section 12 defamation ordinance 2002.
